Unacademy , India’s largest free learning platform raised $1 million from Sachin bansal and Binny bansal of Flipkart , Paytm’s Vijay Shekhar Sharma and FreeCharge’s Kunal shah after it closed it’s Angel round.

This new round was led by Blume Ventures, along with Stanford Angels India, WaterBridge Ventures, Traxcn Labs and a clutch of other angels, including Sandeep Tandon and Ashish Tulsian. Existing investors such as Sujeet Kumar (ex-Flipkart), Aprameya Radhakrishnan of Taxi4Sure, Phanindra Sama of redBus, Sumit Jain and Vikas Malpani of CommonFloor also participated.

Unacademy was started by 2nd time entrepreneur Gaurav Munjal along with 24 yr young Roman saini. Saini is a doctor from AIIMS, and one India’s youngest IAS officers, who resigned as the Assistant Collector of Jabalpur to start the company. Unacademy allows educators to create and publish courses,  has reached more than 25 million views and have on board some of the top educators in the country, including Kiran Bedi, India’s first woman IPS officer and now the Governor of Pondicherry.
